    It's nearly Valentine's

I'm grateful that we have Valentines Day because it's on the same day as one of my friends birthday - makes it easy to remember!  Ther are a lot of things in life that work like that and we don't even notice them. Associations we make subconsciously help us navigate our way through everyday life.

Other associations go a little deeper and take us to places that are tender, significant, funny and remind us there is more to life than right now.

Simple things, like sunset at my home beach is so like the ones I see in Africa. Tender, sad and magnificent all at once. Unintentionally sharing things you really love. Never leave a cake unattended or within reach of my oppertunistic cat that's been taught to like sweet things by my crazy housemate. Hilarious and maddening all at once. It was the last one!!!

Everything we experience has more than one purpose, more than one perspective and more than one response.

Sunsets like the one I've shared could make me incredibly sad and homesick for my friends and the land I miss so much. Or they can make me so grateful that I have actually experienced them and recieved their beauty so deeply that they have a permenant place in my heart. My choice. Enrich my life, encroach on my life. The choice is a no brainer.

So on Feb 14th think about what associations you have and how you respond - you may be surprised where your thoughts take you...

    .....and Day, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

    The New Year . .!

Welcome to a new year, are you ready for it?

Will it be a year of surprises ?

or another year of the same?

I truly hope not. Rather that this year is one of promise, change and the new.

One that you will remember, a life marker where your life made a directional change, a life altering choice was made,  or that you simple let go of all that it is you need to.

Wherever you are, whomever you are and whatever you do, I pray that you are blessed this year with a year that is a life marker of change.

Remember Change is a good thing, not your enemy, like so many of us have come to think of it as.

    Happy New Year . . . . . . .
